Greetings Dear Ones, I am Kryon of Magnetic Service.

We are not oblivious to the elephant under the table. This channel is being given in an auspicious time. It’s a time where many are in fear and others are struggling to stay out of it. Before we go into something that I want you to hear, let’s just take a moment…

There are those right now who are saying goodbye to their elders. That’s difficult. They never thought it would be this way, and it’s difficult. You can be told some of the principles and the esoteric attributes and reasoning of it all, but it doesn’t help when you’ve lost someone. Let’s take a moment of compassionate action to be the Lightworkers of the age, and share the peace and compassion that you have - Light of the world that you are, for those who need it, just for a moment.

There are those who will say, “How long is this going to last?”  The answer is: Long enough; long enough.

I want to tell you things, given in metaphors. Some of you will understand and some of you will not. Let’s talk about children for a moment.

When children are growing up and they reach a certain age, every balanced benevolent parent knows how to work this puzzle. Let’s say the child becomes afraid. They are afraid of just about everything because they haven’t seen everything yet, or perhaps certain unknown things frighten them, or they just need help. Sometimes the biggest fear is of the dark, and they’ll say, “Dad, Mom, I’m afraid of the dark; I don’t know what’s there. Help me because there could be monsters lurking there.”

Every good parent knows how to handle this. They will tell a child: “Listen dear little one, I’m going to turn on the light here for a moment. When I do, I want you to see there’s nothing there. When I turn the light off again, I want you to understand there’s still nothing there. But if you’re still afraid, even for a moment, I’m still here. I’m holding your hand; just hug me; just hug me.

“Don’t be afraid of what’s not there,” they will say to the child and eventually, through time, the child evolves and grows up. The child balances itself and It knows what the parent knows. Then it’s able to help the children that arrive in the future. It’s classic, absolutely classic: Children go through times of fear when they don’t understand things, but that is so easily correctible with compassion and love, and a nurturing explanation. Every good parent listening or reading here has gone through this and perhaps they even experienced it with their parents as well.

I’m going to give you two scenarios that totally go against this commonsense maturing, but which happen every day. Perhaps it’s inappropriate, but they happen.

SET UP: I want you to imagine that child for a moment - in that state of fear - trying to make sense of things in the dark. They always imagine things perhaps, which might attack them.

Scenario One: What if, instead of a hug, the child saw that the parent was afraid too? When that happens, it’s over for the child and they often check out [no hope]. They check out because it’s just too much to process. They’re afraid of the dark and so are their parents. It scars a child for life. They won’t forget this moment because there’s no hug. There’s no explanation; there’s no light; there’s only fear. Their parents are shaking in fear, as well. It happens. It has happened. It happens during war times when the parent can’t do anything about it.

Scenario Two: This one is even worse, and it represents inappropriate parental control. This is when the child is afraid of the dark and the parent says, Well, you should be! There’s are evil things there! So, you must do this and that. The child grows up with rules about evil, or invisible dark things, and understands that there is no hug for the dark at all. There’s only fear and rules to let you escape the worst.

Everything I’m telling you is a metaphor. Some of you are understanding this already, and some of you are not. Every Human Being listening here, every one of you, has an inner child. Some of those inner children right now are scared to death, and some are not. I know who is listening to this later, dear ones. I know who is listening to this and watching it now. Many very mature old souls, who know exactly where this is going, will say, Well, this message is not for me, I’ve gone beyond it.

Have you? Have you really? How far does it have to go before that maturity breaks down and you start to fear?

I’ll tell you right now, Lightworker, old soul: All of you have nurturing, compassionate tools inside you to soothe that savage beast called Fear. It’s what Adironnda [Marilyn Harper channel] said also; it’s what were all saying also.

If you didn’t hear it already from me, I’m giving you a prediction: One of the things that’s going to radically change when this event (virus) is all over, is the accountability from those who inform you in media. When the dust clears, you’re going to look at this closely and say, All the media made it worse, made it worse!

Dear one, in your life there’s never really been anything like this. Your media information sources are marketing-based media. They are not information-based. Dear ones, you know this. They all compete for your viewership and the more dramatic things they can show, the more humans are attracted. This goes for most of you, the world, and perhaps even Lightworkers. Many of you have to consciously remember to turn off the media, since it is carefully designed to “pull you in.”

The world is attracted to drama, so after the media gives you information that may be totally correct and accurate, they then “spin” the fearful side of it without you even being aware that they are doing in. Not only that, they depend on repetition to make certain you hear it many times. Did you know it’s possible for you to turn on the media when you wake up, then turn it off when you go to bed, and hear the same thing over and over 30-40 times? How does it make you feel? How does your inner child feel when all you’re seeing is that the adults are afraid too?

The media is not yet aware of something else they are doing automatically within their programming: In-between the designed drama they are giving you, they then are playing advertisements which create even more inappropriate ideas. The advertisements are often about medicine and drugs you need because you’re old, or medicine you need because you’re young and have pimples, or medicine you need because right now you are in anxiety (which they created), or medication you need just because you stand there as a Human Being, aging every hour. In other words, you’re never normal! You always need something to medicate you. Or perhaps you need an attorney to help you after the medication went wrong?

I don’t think that those media outlets are really putting together what they are doing: They are responsible for scaring the planet to death. That will change. Watch for it. The demand for Accountability for this scenario will eventually create “hope channels” of media. There will finally be room for the good news channels.

Lets call them TFH channels: (My partner’s term for TRUTH-FACTS-HOPE). They will present facts that are confirmed, then go to show things which are balanced and uplifting around those facts. Then you can see that which is, and is not, happening. There is so much good news that none of you know about, dear ones! None of you see it because that is not in the scope of what they do. Your media is currently in the drama business, and not the truth business.

The planet is going to demand this: You’re going to look at those in charge of your media and say, “Bad job! You didn’t do it well. You didn’t do it right. You gave us entertainment and drama. You didn’t give us anything that helped our hearts. You didn’t hold our hands when you could have, and you didn’t hug us enough. You didn’t do any of that.”

The media will defend itself and say, “It’s not our job to hold your hand. It’s our job to inform you.” Dear ones, welcome to the New Normal. Your media indeed should invest itself in giving you hope, as well as truth. There are two sides to the news, not just the drama. This is what will change, and what is next.

That’s one thing that you’re going to see change, Dear Ones. That’s a reboot. The earth will probably take a while for all of this, but you’re going to start seeing things differently and more truthfully. The main thing is that this will represent a paradigm change. Many will start getting their broadcast news from those who also tell “the rest of the story.” That will be the new, attractive thing that you will not expect. Humanity will start to become more wise about the manipulation that takes place “on the air.”

The Experiment

I want to tell you something else: I want to tell you something about an experiment done with children many years ago. It’s an experiment that probably would not be allowed in today’s rules, but it was a classic: Some psychologists know of this, and some nutritionists have studied it. It’s an experiment done with children and food.

The experiment: The children are given a buffet three times a day – breakfast, lunch and dinner, where they can select anything on the buffet, as much as they want of it, without anyone saying anything. No parents allowed.

The buffet is beautiful and nutritionally complete. It starts with vegetables and goes to the rice, the carbs, the fruit; and so on. All the food groups are represented, and it’s the standard wonderful healthy buffet for the culture of the children. And, of course, at the end of the buffet there are the desserts. Except these deserts are are more for kids. There’s the candy, the cookies, the cake, and the pie. It’s all there. It’s all there.

So, the children are turned loose at breakfast. What are they going to have? What do you think? The children all run to the end and stuff themselves with the cookies and cake!

Surprised?

Lunch time: They did the same thing. I mean, really! How how could a turnip compare with a candy bar?

Dinner? They did the same.

The next day, they were all sick. Surprise, surprise!

So, over a period of meals, what happened in this experiment is that the children started eating the vegetables, the rice, the fruit, and all the things they passed over before (even the turnip). The desserts were eaten in moderation (but they still loved them).

The innate part of the Human Being demanded the balance; not the junk, but the balance. It was interesting because the experiment showed that even children who desire sweets and don’t know any better, have an innate which starts to balance itself when given the right choices.

I want you to analyze what’s going on right now on this planet. I’m going to make a statement: You are not being given the right buffet. Dear Ones, right now on this planet, there are no vegetables and there is no fruit. I think you understand what I’m saying. That is going to change.

I think the wild card in all of this will be those who are going to step up and change it, and say, Look we’ve got some good news here. There’s hope. That’s the balance you have been craving. No wonder all of you are sick!

The Incredible Bias of Virus Reporting

I want to show you the bias. I want to show you the bias of your media that is hidden. If you look at the virus information channels, they’ll give you all the charts of the infected and the deaths. Over and over - the infected and the deaths. For every state or country, the infected and the deaths. I want to ask you, Where is the RECOVERED column? It’s not there, is it? That’s a bias. That is a drama bias. Did they tell you that over 99 percent of those who catch the virus recover completely? Where is that number? Do you also know that those who recover have natural immunity for a few years? Where is that information? These are the heros of your time! Did they tell you that? Where are the parties for the recovered?

THEN: There is all the economical doom and gloom that they’re telling you: Not since the depression, they say, have we seen this kind of economy. They are comparing your virus situation to the horrors of 1929 – yet nowhere are they saying: “Wait a minute – wait a minute... this was created! You told us to stop working and stay home! This is not an economic depression like 1929. It’s a temporary situation. The factories and markets didn’t collapse. We are just not allowed to go out and work!

Dear ones, the world economy will slowly return, and the stock market will also. It’s poised and ready. This is not the end of the the automobile industry or the manufacturing industry. It’s not. This is a bump. Are they saying that to you? Or are they comparing it to the worst of the worst, and you tune in and hear: “There’s no vegetables, no fruit. There’s just junk. Prepare to be sick for a long time.”

Historians, generations from now, will look at some numbers which are very telling. Humanity in general has increased its life span attributes. There was a time, even in this country, when you would live to 45 or 50 years old, and that was your life expectancy. You weren’t really expected to live that long. There was too much disease and bad nutrition. All of things have evolved so now you’re seeing a slow increase of life span because of nutrition and especially knowledge. This allows you to live well into the late 80s and even approaching the 90s. (First world nations)

But historians in the future will see something odd: Generations from now, they’re going to look at the life charts and say, “What is this dip here? How is it that for a little while, Humans didn’t live as long?”

They’re going to name it The Corona Dip.

The dip they may see is for an entire generation of humans, and it had nothing to do with being infected by the virus. They will determine that by the millions, fear shortened their lives. Fear shortened their lives! That’s how profound this media bias is.

Historians may eventually report that when they do all the accounting for what really happened, that fear killed more people than the virus.

Dear ones, are you going to be one of them? Or are you going to stand tall and say, “This is a hump, and we’ll get over it? It’s temporary. We’ll mourn when we have to mourn, but we’re coming back because it’s temporary.”

That’s what I wanted to tell you. The truth is not really being shown. As bad as you might say this is, the real truth is not being shown. The up-side is not even on the radar of the media. Not yet. There’s going to be a reckoning for that. You’ll see.

I am Kyron, in love with humanity. Two steps forward, one step back. You’re in the step back at the moment. Old souls, you were built for this. This is where you shine. You have the Akashic experience and the compassion factor that others don’t. That’s why you can show it to others, and let them find the innate balance that will keep fear in its place. This saves lives.

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu indicted for bribery and fraud

Israel’s attorney general has indicted Benjamin Netanyahu for bribery, fraud and breach of trust, in a damning blow to the prime minister as he fights for his political survival.

Avichai Mandelblit charged the 70-year-old leader on Thursday in all three major corruption cases for which he was investigated. It was the first time a sitting Israeli prime minister has been charged with a crime.

In the 63-page indictment, Netanyahu was accused of accepting hundreds of thousands of pounds in luxury gifts from billionaire friends and for trading valuable favours with Israeli media and telecoms moguls for positive news coverage.

“A day in which the attorney general decides to serve an indictment against a seated prime minister for serious crimes of corrupt governance is a heavy and sad day, for the Israeli public and for me personally,” Mandelblit told reporters.

With no clear route to continue his premiership, Netanyahu’s fate has been thrown into limbo as he faces multiple explosive court cases that could drag on for years, all while under intense political pressure.

The dramatic move, the culmination of three years of inquiries, arrives at a desperately fraught time for Israel’s longest-serving leader. Netanyahu is scrambling to remain in power after failing to secure a clear win in two elections this year.

The prime minister has previously denied all the allegations, saying they are part of a politically orchestrated “witch-hunt” to oust him from office.

Responding to the indictment, a pale-faced Netanyahu said in a televised speech that the “false” and “politically motivated” charges amounted to an “attempted coup” against him. “The public has lost trust in the legal system,” he said.

Mandelblit, however, had earlier swatted aside those claims. “This is not a matter of right or left. This is not a matter of politics,” he said.

Netanyahu has previously stated he would not resign if indicted, and is not legally required to do so unless convicted.

The criminal case is also potentially tied to him remaining the head of the government, as some of his parliamentary allies have suggested they would back laws to grant him immunity if he can hold his seat.

Still, the seriousness of the corruption charges could significantly damage his attempts to stay in public office. Earlier this year, Israeli police recommended indictments in the three cases. Netanyahu could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted of bribery and a maximum three-year term for fraud and breach of trust.

The first case, known as case 1,000, involves allegations of receiving gifts such as cigars, champagne and jewellery, from billionaires, including the Hollywood businessman Arnon Milchan and Australian casino operator James Packer, allegedly in exchange for favours.

The indictment estimated the value of the gifts at about £150,000. In return, Netanyahu helped Milchan, an Israeli who produced the film Pretty Woman, to extend his US visa, according to the charges. It was not clear what Packer received for his presents, if anything.

In case 2,000, Netanyahu is accused of colluding with the country’s top-selling newspaper, Yedioth Ahronoth, to hurt its competition in exchange for favourable coverage.

In the third and most serious case, case 4,000, Netanyahu is accused of offering incentives worth close to £200m to the Israeli telecoms provider Bezeq in exchange for positive stories on an online news website it owns. Charges raised against Netanyahu in case 4,000 were the only ones to involve the more damning indictment of bribery.

As well as Netanyahu, two powerful media figures in Israel tied up in the investigations, Shaul Elovich, the former owner of Bezeq, and his wife, Iris, as well as, Arnon Mozes, the publisher of Yedioth Ahronoth, were also indicted for bribery. Both Elovich and Mozes deny any wrongdoing.

In a separate case not involving Netanyahu, his wife, Sara, was convicted in June of illegally misusing thousands of pounds of public funds for lavish meals, despite having an in-house cook provided by the state.

The 60-year-old child psychologist has been a controversial partner throughout Netanyahu’s political career, and has also been accused by employees of mistreatment.

Shortly after Thursday’s charges were announced, Netanyahu’s political foes rushed to call for him to step down.

Itzik Shmuli, a member of the Labor party, said the charges were the “most serious indictment against an elected official in the history of the state”. The main opposition Blue and White party posted a 11-year-old video of Netanyahu in which he called for then-prime minister Ehud Olmert to resign as he battled corruption allegations.

“A prime minister neck deep in investigations does not have a moral and public mandate to make fateful decisions for the State of Israel,” Netanyahu said in the video. Olmert stepped down before he was indicted and later served 16 months in jail.

Despite personal turmoil and a political crisis that has paralysed the country for months, the prime minister has managed to hold on. He was given a boost on Wednesday, after his political challenger, Benny Gantz, who leads Blue and White, failed to form a coalition.

Results from a general election in April provided no party with a clear majority, and a repeat national ballot in September gave a similar result. Netanyahu has twice failed to forge a coalition with allies and was fearful Gantz would end his historic run at the top.

After both men came up short, Israel’s president asked lawmakers on Thursday to name a new candidate, although it seems unlikely any politician will be able to cobble together a majority from such a divided parliament. If that does not happen by 11 December, an unprecedented third election will be called.

“These are harsh, dark days in the annals of the state of Israel,” President Reuven Rivlin said earlier on Thursday, adding that the country found itself in a “miserable political situation”.

Since he returned to power in 2009, Netanyahu has managed to keep his party loyal, although cracks have begun to show.

A poll by the Israel Democracy Institute, carried out last month, found that 65% of Israelis thought Netanyahu should resign as head of the Likud party if indicted.

Award-winning teen writer Noa Pothoven chooses to die due to ‘unbearable suffering’

A 17-year-old girl from Arnhem who suffered from years of PTSD, depression and anorexia after being sexually assaulted as a child has died. 

Noa Pothoven, the author of the award-winning book Winnen of Leren (‘winning or learning’) wrote in a post on Instagram – which has now been deleted – that she was ‘being let go because my suffering is unbearable.’ 

According to the AD, her last days were spent in a hospital bed in her family’s living room, saying goodbye to her near and dear, and her sister announced her death on Sunday. 

Although it has been widely reported around the world that she died through euthanasia – following an unconfirmed report from the Central European News wire service – the circumstances of her death are unclear. A journalist from Politico Europe has claimed that the reports were incorrect and due to a failure of checking. 

In her Instagram post, the young woman had said that she would stop eating, and expected to die within 10 days. 

She had, however, investigated the possibilities of euthanasia through the Levenseindekliniek in Den Haag last year, according to The Gelderlander local newspaper, and then been rejected. 

The young woman had written critically about her traumatising experiences of isolation cells in psychiatric care institutions, and praised GroenLinks MP Lisa Westerveld when she took up the subject of inadequate youth care in the Netherlands. 

After suicide attempts, last year she had said that she would try trauma therapy a final time and her mother, Lisette, told The Gelderlander that she was choosing ‘the road towards death’ while her family wanted her to choose life. 

A spokeswoman for Westerveld, who was one of the people invited to say goodbye to Ms Pothoven before her death, said: ‘as far as we know, she died because she didn’t eat any more,’ adding that the girl has not yet been buried. 

The euthanasia clinic that the young woman reportedly consulted last year would not confirm or deny if she was a patient. Elke Swart, spokeswoman for the Levenseindkliniek in The Hague, said: ‘We cannot say anything about it. There are very few young adults in euthanasia clinics, and it’s even rarer to see them for psychiatric reasons. Euthanasia of someone who is 60 is very different to that of someone who is 16. But we follow the law, which says someone must be in unbearable suffering with no other alternative.’ 

Although euthanasia has been legal in the Netherlands since 2002, the number of cases dropped for the first time in a decade last year. Three cases have been referred to the public prosecution service for not following strict rules, and some commentators have said doctors are more wary after more controversial circumstances involving dementia (2.4% of the 6,126 euthanasia cases last year) and psychiatric forms of suffering (1%). The vast majority of euthanasia procedures, however, involve someone with a terminal sickness, and 66% last year related to untreatable cancer.

Rupert Murdoch's News Corp has called for Google to be broken up in Australia, the latest salvo in a battle between the corporate media giants.

In a petition to Australian regulators, News Corp's local subsidiary complained that "Google enjoys overwhelming market power in both online search and ad tech services."

Going a step further, the company accused Google of "abusing its dominant position to the detriment of consumers, advertisers and publishers."

Earlier this week US presidential hopeful -- and former federal consumer watchdog -- Elizabeth Warren became the latest in a line of commentators to argue that firms such as Amazon, Google and Facebook hold " too much power" in society.

News Corp echoed her argument that Google's businesses should be split, or failing that, search and advertising businesses should be firewalled off from each other.

"While News Corp Australia recognises that divestment is a very serious step ... divestment is necessary in the case of Google, due to the unparalleled power that it currently exerts over news publishers and advertisers alike."

Australian watchdogs are seen as unlikely to recommend that Google be split, but the petition represents an intensification of the worldwide fight between Australian-born Murdoch and Google and Facebook.

News organisations accuse the tech giants of gaining huge commercial benefit from expensive to create content, while paying nothing and syphoning off advertising.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is one of several regulators across the world investigating the effect that digital platforms have on competition in the media, advertising and advertising services markets.

News organisations in Australia have struggled in recent years with falling revenue and shrinking staff, as giants like Google and Facebook dominate the digital economy.

The downturn has prompted a string of mergers that have left the market with only three or four major media companies.

Local newspapers, once the lifeblood of communities across this vast country, run on a skeletal staff or have been forced to close.

Murdoch's News Corp is a dominant player, owning a slew of Australian newspapers and the largest television news channel, and is the majority owner of the Foxtel pay television operations.

Murdoch's vast political influence has frequently come under fire from former prime ministers on both sides of Australian politics and is widely seen as pushing the tone of public debate to the right.

News Corp Australia is a subsidiary of US-based News Corp, which owns the Wall Street Journal and newspapers in Britain. Murdoch and his family also control the media-entertainment conglomerate 21st Century Fox, owner of the Fox News Channel.

"... Marketing the Drama and Unseen Truth

Number three: There are some very old energies in your society and in your culture that have always been the same and represent past Human nature, and you have to decide what to do with them. You may not be able to change them, but you have a choice on what to do with them.

If you believe in the shift and you are starting to think more positive, then let me tell you something that will help. There is light on this planet that is not being reported. There is the beginning of high consciousness ideas and new thought about the future of humanity in very powerful places. These are seeds of new thought that are beginning to grow, and some of them make so much sense and are elegant, yet you'll never know about them. The reason? Your media is filled with the old dark consciousness of drama above all else and many of you willingly create a platform to sustain it.

Some of you will come home from work and feel it's a nice idea to turn on the media and watch all of the horrible things that happened on the planet that day. Perhaps you don't want the news, so you go for entertainment instead. So you turn on a program where you can watch families in drama, arguing and complaining. What I'm telling you, dear ones, is that your media is broken, and you watch it anyway.

Right now, it continues in the old energy and the management in charge thinks it knows best what you and your neighbors want. So it's going to deliver darkness on a regular basis, and if there's nothing dark, it will create it for you. That is what you're faced with. Here is my advice. Select the media carefully that you believe is true and accurate. Wouldn't you rather have fun things to watch? Perhaps you'd like to watch cute pets or animals doing fun things? How about children doing amazing and hilarious things, or great stories of heroism with uplifting endings? How about amazing nature or comedy that is hilarious? Right now with new devices, you can see all of that as much as you want, without commercials. This is the newest trend and evolution of your media selection - personal control over programs in your home, without commercial interruption. Did you see this happening and wonder why now?

So the solution to drama-biased media is simple: Don't watch or listen to standard broadcast! Instead, find out about the alternates and be selective. Select news that is less biased in bringing you full-time drama. Of course, you need to stay in touch with what is happening, but you don't have to accept a program that is dedicated to enhancing and promoting the drama of the day and making it worse - or that gives no news at all about the good things going on.

I say this because broadcast not only is broken, it's dangerous, since it gives false impressions of the overview of the planet. They are stuck in the old energy and haven't caught up yet with the overview of what might really be happening on the planet. Not yet. Even the channels that will give you supposedly good education and history are biased in ways that you would not even expect. They continue to believe in slanting even historic or documentary stories to be horrific and dark. They believe that is what people really want.

What would happen if these companies started programming things people really wanted to watch? What would happen is exactly what they want, and their revenues would go up! I hope they're listening. There will come some day, dear ones, where there'll be more than one good news channel and you can tune in to hear the most heroic and heart-rendering things that have happened on that day on the planet. It will be balanced, perhaps with some other things that also happened. But it will be a balance that you have not seen yet anywhere. ...."

Let us speak of government. We're not speaking of your government, but of any government - the way it works, how it survives, how it has survived, the way it campaigns, and how it elects leaders. It's going to change.

Years ago, I told you, "When everybody can talk to everybody, there can be no secrets." Up to this point on this planet, government has counted on one thing - that the people can't easily talk to each other on a global scale. They have to get their information through government or official channels. Even mass media isn't always free enough, for it reports that which the government reports. Even a free society tends to bias itself according to the bias of the times. However, when you can have Human Beings talking to each other all at once, all over the planet without government control, it all changes, for there is open revelation of truth.

Democracy itself will change and you're going to see it soon. The hold-outs, the few countries I have mentioned in the past, are doomed unless they recalibrate. They're doomed to be the same as they have been and won't be able to exist as they are now with everyone changing around them.

I mentioned North Korea in the past. Give it time. Right now, the young man is under the control of his father's advisors. But when they're gone, you will see something different, should he survive. Don't judge him yet, for he is being controlled.

In government, if you're entire voting base has the ability to talk to itself without restriction and comes up with opinions by itself without restriction, it behooves a politician to be aware and listen to them. This will change what politicians will do. It will change the way things work in government. Don't be surprised when some day a whole nation can vote all at once in a very unusual way. Gone will be the old systems where you used to count on horseback riders to report in from faraway places. Some of you know what I am talking about. Government will change. The systems around you, both dark and light, will change. You're going to start seeing something else, too, so let's change the subject and turn the page. ”

Trump communications director Bill Shine resigns

Washington (AFP) - Former Fox News executive Bill Shine has resigned as President Donald Trump's communications director, the White House said Friday.

"Assistant to the president and communications director Bill Shine offered his resignation to the president yesterday evening, and the president accepted," White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said in a statement.

Sanders didn't go into Shine's reasoning but said he continued to support Trump and his agenda and would be a senior advisor to the 2020 re-election campaign.

Shine, 55, was appointed co-president of Fox News in August 2016, following the abrupt resignation of its chief Roger Ailes in the face of a sexual harassment lawsuit.

Shine resigned from the US television network less than a year later over questions concerning his handling of the Ailes case and accusations that he had helped cover up alleged misbehavior.

His resignation comes as accusations mount over Trump's closeness to the network, whose prime time star anchor Sean Hannity served as an informal advisor to the then-candiadate during the 2016 election campaign.

An article in this week's New Yorker magazine suggested Fox was a "propaganda" vehicle for Trump and alleged that in 2016, the network went so far as killing a story about the president's alleged affair with a pornographic film actress.

The Democratic Party responded by banning the network from hosting any of its primary candidate, after published revelations suggested it was a "propaganda" vehicle for Trump.

Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez said a story in this week's New Yorker magazine on the White House's apparently close relationship with the channel prompted the decision.

"Recent reporting in the New Yorker on the inappropriate relationship between President Trump, his administration and Fox News has led me to conclude that the network is not in a position to host a fair and neutral debate for our candidates," he added in a statement to The Washington Post.

The New Yorker piece detailed how Trump has given dozens of interviews to Fox and repeatedly tweets claims that have been made on the popular cable news network, owned by media magnate Rupert Murdoch.

Trump often refers to Fox's rivals CNN and MSNBC, as well as The New York Times and The Washington Post, as "fake news."

Spiegel to file criminal complaint against cheating reporter

Berlin (AFP) - Influential German news weekly Der Spiegel said Sunday it would file a criminal complaint against a disgraced reporter after it emerged he may have embezzled donations intended for Syrian street children.

Claas Relotius, 33, resigned this month after admitting to making up stories and inventing protagonists in more than a dozen articles in the magazine's print and online editions.

Spiegel said it now had information that Relotius allegedly launched a campaign for readers to give money to help subjects of an article he wrote but that the bank details he gave directed the funds to his own account.

"Der Spiegel will give all the information it collects to public prosecutors as part of a criminal complaint," it said on its website.

Spiegel said concerned readers had in recent days reported Relotius's call for donations purportedly for orphaned Syrian children living on the streets of Turkey.

It said it had been unaware of the campaign and that it was not immediately clear how much money was raised from the appeal, apparently made by email to readers who contacted him about the story.

Spiegel published the article by Relotius in July 2016 but a Turkish photographer who worked with him on the piece has since noted significant inaccuracies.

The magazine said it now believes Relotius may have simply made up one of the main protagonists, whom the article described as young siblings.

Relotius described his attempts to help the children in a subsequent collection of articles, including a months-long effort to bring the children to Germany to be adopted by a family. Spiegel said this also appeared to be a lie.

In its most recent edition, the magazine said the scam was the "worst thing that can happen to an editorial team".

Acknowledging the damage to faith in its own work and the media in general, it apologised promised to "do everything to boost our credibility again."

FBI looking into bid to smear Russia probe chief Mueller

Washington (AFP) - The FBI is investigating an alleged scheme to pay women to accuse Russia collusion probe chief Robert Mueller of sexual harassment in a bid to discredit him, Mueller's office said Tuesday.

The scheme was uncovered after one woman who said she worked for Mueller decades ago told several journalists she had been offered $20,000 to accuse him of sexual misconduct.

"When we learned last week of allegations that women were offered money to make false claims about the Special Counsel, we immediately referred the matter to the FBI for investigation," Mueller's spokesman Peter Carr said.

Carr did not offer any additional details, but his rare public statement made clear that Mueller's office was taking the claims seriously.

When a matter is referred to the FBI, the agency must investigate the merits of the complaint.

Mueller is a former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation who was tasked last year with investigating allegations that members of President Donald Trump's campaign team colluded with Russia to sway the 2016 election.

Mueller's probe has expanded to examine possible attempts by Trump himself to obstruct the investigation, which could -- if proven -- lead to the president's impeachment.

The Hill Reporter news website said the scheme surfaced last week after they and several other outlets were contacted by an anonymous woman saying she had been offered cash to make allegations against Mueller.

The woman -- who has since disappeared -- said in an email to several reporters that the person who contacted her claimed to work for Republican lobbyist and right-wing radio host Jack Burkman, the Hill Reporter said.

On October 20, Burkman announced on his Facebook page that he had explosive evidence showing Mueller is an alcoholic, and had seven women who claimed they had been harassed by Mueller, dating back four decades or more.
